ABOUT ME
I started a small company called Flexidog Therapy & Training Workshops 8 years ago after qualifying with a Diploma (L4) in Canine Merishia Massage Therapy. I have a diploma (L3) in Canine Anatomy & Physiology and Canine Nutrition (L3) and an advanced Diploma in Canine Exercise Rehabilitation Therapy (L5). In September 2024 I completed a Foundation Certificate in Canine Functional Osteopathy and went onto complete another 500 hrs of CPD in Canine Functional Osteopathy.
I regularly attend CPD events and love researching and following leading professionals all over the world to keep up to date with current research in fitness and exercise rehabilitation.
I also have a BSc (Hons) Degree in Equine Studies (Science) and have competed in agility for the past 16 years and before that competed in British Eventing and local riding club competitions for 15 years. I understand the physical demands on sports dogs and our responsibility to ensure they are appropriately conditioned to take part.
I currently have two dogs. Lila, who is retired from agility but dabbles in baseless Hoopers competitions and really enjoys her conditioning sessions to keep her in great shape. She is a Croatian crossbreed who is coming up to 11 years of age. Fergus, who competes in agility and is a 5yr old English Springer Spaniel.
Arnie, my first dog, a staffie from Battersea Dogs home, was the main reason I became interested in injury prevention, fitness and rehabilitation. Getting him fit for agility and preventing injury ignited a real hunger to understand why injuries occur, how to treat them, how to return to a physically challenging sport and avoid injuries in the future. In the last year I have chosen to focus solely on working and sports dogs. I provide bespoke fitness programmes or exercise rehabilitation programmes to support injured/post surgical dogs.
I am passionate about providing owners with fun, interactive, positive and structured ways to improve their dog’s quality of life, sports/working performance and rehabilitation from injury.
I have delivered mutiple CPD workshops on the subject of Canine Exercise Rehabilitation to other therapist.
I am also a memberof IAAT - International Association of Animal Therapists.
